The interest distribution of service invention is an important part of service invention mechanism. It is of vital significance for the balance of interests between enterprises and employee-inventors, and for promoting the innovative country construction. Thus, contribution degree of service invention is taken into consideration for calculating the award of invention in Japan and other countries. This research reviews the development and change of ownership rights and reward system of service invention in Japan, explores the positive effect of the contribution degree on employee-inventors. The analysis could provide evidence and reference for setting the criteria and establishing specific regulation on the service invention system in China.
