史称董仲舒向汉武帝所提“罢黜百家,独尊儒术”,具有很大的价值与意义,影响深远:“为往圣继绝学”,使孔孟所开创的儒学复活;使儒家直线上升到“独尊”的地位,使儒学经学化;使儒学在我国此后的两千年封建社会中一直处于正统的主导地位;使儒学具有强大的生命力;使儒家成为我国传统文化的三大主流;使孔子与老子成为东方文化的杰出代表。大力弘扬儒学的优秀传统,对建设中国和全人类的新文化可作出新贡献。董仲舒的功绩与贡献,足以成为儒学发展史上的一座丰碑。董仲舒与汉儒,当是儒学发展史上的第二阶段。

사칭동중서향한무제소제“파출백가,독존유술”,구유흔대적개치여의의,영향심원:“위왕골계절학”,사공맹소개창적유학복활;사유가직선상승도“독존”적지위,사유학경학화;사유학재아국차후적량천년봉건사회중일직처우정통적주도지위;사유학구유강대적생명력;사유가성위아국전통문화적삼대주류;사공자여노자성위동방문화적걸출대표。대력홍양유학적우수전통,대건설중국화전인류적신문화가작출신공헌。동중서적공적여공헌,족이성위유학발전사상적일좌봉비。동중서여한유,당시유학발전사상적제이계단。
It was recorded in the history that the policy of“banning other school thoughts and honouring Confucianism alone”which was suggested by Dong Zhongshu to Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty was of great value and significance and its influences were far-reaching. Just because of it, those superb classics could be inherited and Confucianism initiated by Confucius and Mencius could be revived. Influenced by it, Confucianism was promoted to the position of being honoured alone and became classics, and was put in the orthodox and dominant position in our country in the 2000 years of feudal society. In additon, due to its influence, Confucianism got strong vitality and become one of the three main streams of our traditional culture, and Confucius and Lao Tzu were considered as the outstanding representatives of orental culture. Vigorously carrying forward the fine traditions of Confucianism can make new contributions to the construction of the new culture of China as well as of the mankind. Dong Zhongshu’s great achievements and contributions are enough to be a monument in the history of Confucianism. Dong Zhongshu and the Confucians of the Han Dynasty belong to the second periold in the history of Confucianism.
