《齐民要术》中“回车倒马，掷衣不下，皆十石而收”的释义历来颇有争议。文章从“密度”和“长势”的选择、“石”的概念及“十石”的定位、区田法亩产量数据的考察、阐释农谚的角度及方式等方面展开了分析，对其意义予以补充修整，指出这条农谚是指在区田法耕作方式下，不同农作物和不同肥硗程度的田地会有不同的种植密度，区田法作为一种精耕细作、高度集约化的有效增产耕作方法，种植或稀或密，基本上都可以获得高产。

＂Both sparse planting with the row spacing of carriage reversing and horse returning and dense plant- ing with the row spacing of hanging the thrown-down clothes lead to the ten-dan harvest＂ in Qimin Yaoshu, which, as a proverb, has always been controversial in terms of its paraphrase. While discussing the selection of ＂planting density＂ and ＂growth situation＂, analyzing the concept of ＂dan＂ and the position of ＂ten dan＂, in- vestigating the yield data of ＂cultivation in shallow pits＂, and explicating the perspective and manner of agricul- tural proverbs, the paper supplements and corrects its meaning. This piece of agricultural proverb actually indi- cares that the planting density, according to the cultivation in shallow pits, farmlands of different degrees of fertile. The cultivation in shallow pits, varies with the different crops and the as a kind of effective yield-increasing cultivating method of careful cultivation and high intensification, can basically reap a heavy crop no matter whether the planting is sparse or dense.
