羞怯一直是心理学研究的热点问题之一。西方有关羞怯的研究已有近100年的历史，并取得了大量的成果，近年来国内该领域的研究也在渐次增多。随着时代的发展和技术的进步，在羞怯的研究领域出现了跨学科和使用多种技术方法共同研究的趋势。通过有关羞怯的词源学研究、统计测量学研究、神经生理研究和遗传学研究，对羞怯的概念、结构、影响因素、神经生理机制、遗传定位等进行述评。

As a hot issue of psychology, shyness has been worked on for about 100 years in the west, and a lot of achievements have been obtained. However, domestic researches in this field have been gradually increasing in recent years as well. With the development of science and technology, there has appeared a tendency of interdisciplinary researches collaborating with those making use of a variety of technical meth- ods in the academic field of shyness. That is, through studies on the etymology, the statistical measure- ment, the neurophysiology and the genetics of shyness, its conception, structure, influence factors, neu- rophysiologic mechanism and genetic mapping are reviewed.
