当代艺术学与相邻学科交叉形成了系列边缘学科，如果我们将“艺术政治学”理解为“艺术化的政治的学问”，艺术政治学可以成立，就目前艺术与政治交叉融合的现状及学术界研究进展来看，可以先研究探讨政治艺术化的可能性及其愿景，在此基础上，建立艺术政治学。政治艺术化不能改变政治的务实性和功利性，政治艺术化过程中，艺术思维、艺术手法、艺术精神始终发挥辅助、纠偏、警醒和完善的作用。政治艺术化的最佳状态是各个实践环节环环相扣、相互结合，顶层政治艺术化设计、行政艺术化和政治成果艺术化相互呼应，在理智和情感两方面不断校正方向，使得政治环境、政治氛围成为一个培育并发挥正能量的场域。
