《水泥花园》是麦克尤恩第一部长篇小说,小说以15岁的少年杰克为视角,向读者展示了一个惊世骇俗的故事。副词是系统功能语法中用来表达环境意义及人际意义最常见的方式,且主位结构是系统功能语言学中分析语篇的重要理论,越来越多的学者将主位结构分析应用于文学作品,因主位的选择蕴涵着话语对象之间人际关系的线索。利用语料库软件UAM Corpus Tool检索功能,对小说中截取的父子、母子及手足关系片段中各类副词进行分析,并结合功能语言学主位结构理论,从叙述话语分析的角度揭示作者刻画和塑造家庭中不同的人际关系,关注文学作品中的伦理部分,剖析副词的使用和主位的选择变换如何阐明人物关系及家庭伦理缺失。

The Cement Garden is the first full-length novel of Ian MacEwan, narrated by a fifteen-year old boy Jack, it shows a shocking story to the reader. Adverbial groups are the most common pattern serving as interpersonal or circumstantial expressions in systemic Functional Crammar. Thematic structure is an important part in Functional Linguistics, used to taking textual analysis, and increasing numbers of scholars apply this theory on literary works, because the theme implies the interpersonal relationships that the narrator to the narrate. This article, after a process of auto code, takes an analysis of various adverbs in excerpts of father-and-son relationship, mother-and-son relationship and sibling relationships. Combining with thematic structure theory of Functional Linguistics, from the perspective of narrative discourse, it focuses on the ethical part of literary works, to reveal different relationships among family members that shaped by the author. We could see how the application of adverbs and shifting of themes contribute to demonstrating the relationships between characters, as well as the ethical flaws in this family.
