今人把＂辗转＂认定为双音节单纯词,不可分训;但有学者考证认为＂辗转＂包含两个语素,且各自意义明确。古今联绵字与联绵词的概念内涵有交叉,亦有重叠。＂联绵字＂被前人广泛使用,内涵较为宽泛,今人所谓＂联绵词＂的内涵则相对狭窄。以现代语言学的眼光来看,＂辗转＂实际是一个复合词,不是联绵词。严格意义上的联绵词多为音译词和拟声词。

Modem people think ＂Zhanzhuan＂ is a simplex word with two syllables, and it can not be explained separately. But according to the textual research,＂Zhanzhuan＂ includes two morphemes and each has its own meaning. Regarding to its concept and connotation, Lianmianzi and Lianmianci are overlapped and interweaved with each other. Lianmianzi and Lianmianci are different on the connotation. Most of the precise Lianmianci are transliterated words and onomatopoeic words.
