曾巩是宋代道学的代表人物之一，在北宋孟子升格的思想运动中，受欧阳修等人影响，推尊孟子，借鉴孟子排斥杨墨之学的方法，提出“放而绝之”的辟佛思想。从孟子“浩然之气”的心性修养入手，以“豪杰”作为其人格精神的基本模式，升华了北宋前期道学人格的建构，又从孟子“求放心”的为学宗旨出发，对宋代学者的为学方法和宗旨进行了反思，形成了简易自得，博学尽精微的治学思想。

Zeng Kong is a prominent personage of Song Dynasty moralist. During Northern Song ideology trend of Mencius＇ promotion, he was affected by Ouyang Xiu and so on to study Mencius worship, and was able to break barriers to think independently. He drew lessons of Mencius rejecting Yang Mo＇s doc- trine; moreover he advanced a concept of abandoning for extermination to break the effect of the Bud- dhism in ideology and convention in order to revive Confucianism. He started with Mencius＇ tempera- ment and culture, a spirit of magnanimity, and drew it into Northern Song moralistic personalistic con- struction, and saw hero as a basic mode of personality spirit. Further, he began with Mencius＇ study mission of seeking lost good, and deeply rethought Song Dynasty scholastic＇s study fundamentality, method and approach, and generated his study ideology, simply gaining harvest and erudition resulting in carefulness.
