形如“N是N”的结构称为同语式,是语言学关注的焦点和热点问题。在其解释理解机制问题上,语用学和认知语言学产生了分歧,争论的焦点集中在同语中名词的指称是否转移问题上。事实上,“N是N”同语式涵盖了同形异义和同形同义两大类别,认知派和语用派分歧的主要原因是基于不同的类别。动态范畴构建论可以消解上述分歧,为同语式提供一个统一的分析框架,其理论优势尤其体现在它可以深入解释目前研究较少的同形同义型同语。

Structures like "N is N" are termed as tautology, which has been attracting wide scholarly attention in recent years. As regards its interpretation, pragmatics and cognitive linguistics have disagreements concerning whether the nouns in tautolo- gies involve shift of reference. Actually, the form "N is N" represents two types of tautology. Cognitivists and pragmatists base their research on different types and that' s why they reach different conclusions, with cognitivists arguing for reference shift while pragmatists arguing otherwise. The approach of dynamic category construction can solve the disputes by introducing a more unified interpretation.
