语用学与会话分析都研究具体情景中的言语交际，但二者存在显著差异。文章从学科基础、研究内容、研究视角和目标、研究方法和语料以及语境观五个方面，对比、区分了语用学与会话分析。语用学源于语言哲学，主要对具体的语言使用现象和话语的产出和理解过程做出解释，研究方法和语料来源多样化，分析语料要基于语境。会话分析沿袭了人类方法学及社会学传统，侧重对会话的结构和模式进行发现和描写，是一种对自然发生的会话进行经验研究的方法，分析语料时不提前参考背景知识。

Pragmatics and Conversation Analysis both undertake the study of verbal communication in specific con- sis from the above - mentioned five aspects. It concludes that Pragmatics derives from the philosophy of language and is devoted to the explanation of specific pragmatic phenomena and the process of utterance production and inter- pretation. Methods available and data sources in pragmatic studies are more diverse and data are analyzed premised on a consideration of context. In contrast, Conversation Analysis inherits the research tradition of ethnomethodology and sociology and focuses on the discovery and description of the structures and patterns of sequences. Conversation Analysis is per se an empirical approach to naturally occurring conversations and its data analysis does not refer to background information in advance.
