Rural teachers ' professional identity is based on rural teachers ' knowledge, it is worth paying more attention on research on rural teachers' knowledge to enhance their professional status. In essence, rural teachers' knowledge has local, cultural and critical characteristics. Therefore, there are some ways for developing rural teachers' knowledge, such as culti- vating a rural learning community, reforming curriculum system of rural teacher education, and making innovation of rural teacher education programs.
