African literature in English; Achebe; translation and introduction
非洲文坛巨匠钦努阿·阿契贝是国内英语文学译介的重要对象。1963年,阿契贝的名字首次出现在中国的期刊杂志上,1980年代国内学者对他作品的译介逐渐增多,但仍显零散单一。新世纪以来,由于文学经典的阅读不断受到重视,对他作品的译介迅速增多,成果丰硕,体现一定的计划性和系统性,所译介的作品包括长篇小说、短篇小说、儿童文学作品、政论性散文等文类。

Chinua Achebe＇s works have become a canon of African literature in English which have drawn much attentionfrom readers and critics in China. In 1963,Achebe＇s name first appeared in a Chinese journal. In the 1980 s,more of his works were introduced to Chinese readers,which owed much to translators＇ personal preference rather than publishers＇ well-regulated plans. With more importance attached to the reading of literary classics in the new century,the translation of Achebe＇s works in China has witnessed a fruitful success. So far,most of his novels and short stories have been put into Chinese. Yet,the translation of his essays and poetry still demands more efforts.
