莫言小说《蛙》别出：心裁，以身体部位或人体器官命名大部分人物。按照概念隐喻理论，对主要人物姓名“万心”和“万足”的隐喻意义进行分析，“万心”喻指人物承载万千种心思与心事，借此展示新中国六十多年波澜起伏的生育史；“万足”喻指人物满足私欲、万事俱足的一生，从而刻画出一位自私、懦弱、实际、虚伪的知识分子形象。小说运用人名隐喻描绘人物性格特质、暗示人物命运、塑造人物形象，并寄托作者情感、构建小说主题。隐喻认知机制在人物命名上、在构思小说过程中起到不可或缺、甚至不可替代的作用。
막언소설《와》별출：심재，이신체부위혹인체기관명명대부분인물。안조개념은유이론，대주요인물성명“만심”화“만족”적은유의의진행분석，“만심”유지인물승재만천충심사여심사，차차전시신중국륙십다년파란기복적생육사；“만족”유지인물만족사욕、만사구족적일생，종이각화출일위자사、나약、실제、허위적지식분자형상。소설운용인명은유묘회인물성격특질、암시인물명운、소조인물형상，병기탁작자정감、구건소설주제。은유인지궤제재인물명명상、재구사소설과정중기도불가혹결、심지불가체대적작용。
The ingenuity of Mo Yan＇s novel Frog consists in the fact that he names most of the characters with human body parts or organs. The article is about to analyze the metaphorical meaning of such main characters＇ names as ＂Wan Xin＂ and ＂Wan Zu＂ in the novel from the perspective of cognitive metaphor. ＂Wan Xin＂ metaphorically indicates the character carries numerous thoughts and worries in her heart. Thus, China＇s birth-control history of over sixty years is displayed. ＂Wan Zu＂ implies the character＇s whole life, during which he does his utmost to satisfy his personal needs unscrupulously. Meanwhile, a selfish, timid, practical and hypocritical intellectual image is vividly portrayed. Name metaphor is employed in the novel to portray personal traits of the characters, imply their destinies, present characterization, reflect the author＇s sentiments and construct the motives. Based on the present study, metaphor is indispensible and irreplaceable in naming characters and in the process of novel design.
