技术进步常常物化在新资本品中,而Solow提出的增长核算难以体现这一点。本文通过DEA方法测算了1981—2011年主要的28个国家的全要素生产率,并将其分解成技术进步和技术效率,将这三者与资本积累速度的关系进行了分析。研究发现:资本积累从两种途径促进了发展中国家的全要素生产率增长,一种途径是发展中国家的资本积累倾向于缩小和发达国家的技术差距,另一种途径是资本积累提高了发展中国家的技术效率。这表明发展中国家的资本积累确实带来了物化性技术进步,一定程度上解释了一些发展中国家从增长核算看技术进步较小,却能维持较长时间增长的悖论。

The embodied technical change embodied in new capital goods, but growth accounting is difficult to reflect it. In this paper, we use DEA method to measure the TFP in 28 countries from 1981 to 2011. Then we break the TFP down into technical progress and technical efficiency. We analyze the relationship between TFP and the accumulation of capital. It is found that the embodied technical change promoting the growth of produc- tivity in the developing countries in two aspects. On the one hand, embodied technical change tends to narrow the technology gap between developed and developing countries. And on the other hand, embodied technical change improves the technical efficiency in developing countries. This partly explains the paradox that some de- veloping countries is capital driving but can maintain growth for a long time.
