Chromium in environment can lead to many serious pollution problems and potential threat to human health.Microbial technology has played an important role in the degradation of chromium in recent years. Cr （VI） is tremendouslyharmful to the environment and human health. This paper has expounded the type of microorganism, degradation mechanismsof microorganism and the parameters affecting the microbial functions in detail. Existing problems and application prospectsof microbial technology are discussed.
