“全美大学生学习性投入调查(NSSE)”以促进院校质量改进为目的,把调查结果广泛应用于院校评估、机构认证、绩效问责及公众宣传中。在追求质量“共治”的高等教育发展阶段,NSSE的应用有助于院校在学习成果评估中实现内部质量改进与外部问责两个评估目标的有机结合,在美国高等教育质量保障系统中发挥了重要作用。

National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), which is committed to the improvement of high- er educational institutions, has its survey results widely used in institutional assessment, accreditation, account- ability and publicity. In the context of pursing "common governance" over institutions of higher learning, NSSE makes a significant contribution to the quality assurance system of U.S higher education by helping the institutions to realize the dynamic integration of the two important goals-internal improvement and external accountability-in their assessment of students' learning achievements.
