本文在Copeland—Taylor贸易模型的基础上，通过将FDI质量参数化，分析了FDI质量对环境污染的影响机理，并结合中国分省区面板数据，运用普通面板回归和门槛回归方法，对FDI质量与环境污染之间的关系进行了实证考察。研究发现，总体而言，FDI质量的提升有利于中国环境污染的改善，且不同的FDI质量指标对环境污染的影响具有明显的地区差异；以人力资本和研发强度作为吸收能力门槛变量的回归结果表明，FDI质量的环境改善作用具有显著的门槛特征，且伴随着本地吸收能力水平的提高，FDI质量的环境改善效应也在增强。

On the basis of Copeland- Taylor trade model, by parameterizing the foreign direct investment quality, the paper explores the mechanism about the influence of FDI quality on the environment pollution. Combining with the panel data of China＇ s provinces, using ordinary panel regression and threshold regres- sion methods, the paper has carded out the empirical investigation on the relation- ship between FDI quality and the environmental pollution. According to study, on the general, the increase of FDI quality is conductive to the improvement of Chi- na＇ s environmental pollution, and the influences of different FDI qualities on the environmental pollution vary significantly in different regions. The threshold regression results with human capital and R＆D intensity as variables in the threshold of the absorptive capacity show that, the environmental improvement re- sulting from FDI quality has remarkable threshold characteristics, and along with the improvement of the local absorptive capacity, the improvement effect on the environment of FDI quality is increasing.
