The subject teaching ability of English teachers is the key to high level foreign language teaching. This paper puts forward some ideas and methods for the cultivation of teaching ability of teachers.. Through the analysis of the significance, purpose and connotation of the research on the cultivation of teachers' teaching ability, combining with the practice of foreign economic and trade schools, some main criteria of evaluating teachers' teaching ability are de-termined.. Some measures and methods of improving the teaching ability of the teachers in the teaching of the teachers are summarized and implemented.
