通过分析基于级联半桥子模块双星形结构的模块化多电平变换器(MMC)拓扑,提出了一种基于单星形 MMC 的静止同步补偿器(STATCOM)拓扑结构,并与级联 H 桥 STATCOM 等拓扑进行了比较。该拓扑只采用双星 MMC 的一半,比级联 H 桥星形 STATCOM 节省13.4%的绝缘栅双极型晶体管(IGBT)。采用电流直接控制策略,给出了单星 MMC-STATCOM 的电容电压多层次控制方案及一种相间电容电压平衡控制改进方案,该方案不需要对零序电压注入量进行复杂计算。此外,还搭建了10 kVA 实验样机。仿真和实验结果表明,所提的单星 MMC-STATCOM具有优良的动静态特性,验证了所提控制方案的可行性和有效性。

Through an analysis of a modular multilevel converter (MMC) based on the double-star chopper-cells (DSCC) configuration,a static synchronous compensator(STATCOM)topology using the MMC based on the single-star chopper-cells (SSCC) configuration is presented,which is compared with the STATCOM based on single-star bridge cells (SSBC),single-delta bridge cells (SDBC)and DSCC configurations.The proposed SSCC-based MMC-STATCOM uses only half the number of the DSCC-based MMC-STATCOM and can save about 13.4% of the insulated gate bipolar translators(IGBTs)than the SSBC-based STATCOM.A comprehensive capacitor voltage control strategy using direct current control for the SSCC-based MMC-STATCOM is presented,along with an improved phase-phase capacitor voltage balance control scheme.The improved scheme does not have to perform complex calculations on zero sequence voltage compensation quantity.Furthermore,a 10 kVA experimental prototype of three-phase SSCC-based MMC-STATCOM is developed.In the end,simulation and experimental results have proved that the proposed SSCC-based MMC-STATCOM possesses excellent dynamic and static characteristics, while the proposed topology of STATCOM and its control schemes are feasible and effective.
