《左传·宣公四年》载楚令尹子文幼时曾由虎乳之,故名榖於菟。然婴儿由虎养大实不可能,故历来注疏曲为之说。今见上博简《成王为城濮之行》中子文自称“余”,其即文献上的“榖於菟”。其中“”字加上了虎形,为楚人的用字习惯,非有义可说。但当不清楚这种习惯用法的人看了,就很可能把“虍”形当作义符来解读,再加上前后有“”“余”两字,很容易把“余”联想成“虎余”,即“虎乳养我”之义,而造就了一段离奇的传说。

《좌전·선공사년》재초령윤자문유시증유호유지,고명곡어토。연영인유호양대실불가능,고력래주소곡위지설。금견상박간《성왕위성복지행》중자문자칭“여”,기즉문헌상적“곡어토”。기중“”자가상료호형,위초인적용자습관,비유의가설。단당불청초저충습관용법적인간료,취흔가능파“호”형당작의부래해독,재가상전후유“”“여”량자,흔용역파“여”련상성“호여”,즉“호유양아”지의,이조취료일단리기적전설。
Zuozhuan described the Chu Ziwen raised by tiger in childhood, this legend is hard to believe, because the tiger will not raise a baby. So many people have always misinterpreted.Now we found the name of Ziwen in the Chu bamboo slip,written tiger radical, this is the common wording style in Chu bamboo,is the writing habits of Chu, Someone who does not know such an wording style , mistaken tiger meaningful, creating the legend of Ziwen was raised by tiger.these results suggest that the legend from a misunderstanding.
