作为一种新兴的舆论监督形式，电视问政吸引了越来越多的关注。在表现形式上，主要包含6个环节———主持人＋电视短片＋职能部门＋市民提问＋专家点评＋观众不记名表决。因为涉及到传统媒体、政府和民众之间的三方互动，所以从狭义上来说，指的就是政府相关职能部门在电视镜头前接受市民的质询与评议。可以说，既是政府传播、沟通、说服公民的重要渠道，也是公民反映心声、参与公共管理的主要途径，在促进民主政治发展方面具有独特作用。
