“亢害承制”出自《内经》，原指在五运六气变化过程中出现太过和不及的一种内在调控机制。后世医家在此基础上不断对其进行补充和发展，刘完素、李中梓、虞抟等医家联系阴阳五行理论、天人相应整体观将其应用在自然现象以及人体的生理、病理上，创造出独具中医特色的自然观、生理观、发病观及治疗观。他们以纠正人体各方面的偏胜或不及作为治疗的出发点，形成了中医的治疗理念，丰富了中医理论，对现代中医临床研究及诊断治疗有十分重要的意义。

“Restraining excessiveness to acquire harmony”comes from The Canon of Internal Medicine ,which means an in-ternal regulation mechanism that excessiveness and shortness occurred in the process of five movements and six qi .Physicians of generations carried constant complement and development on the base of it .Physicians ,like LIU Yuansu ,LI zhongzi and YU tuan ,applied the theory of yin-yang and five elements and holistic view of correspondence between human and universe in natural phenomenon and human’s physiology and pathology ,creating unique characteristics of the TCM view of nature , physiology ,pathogenesis and treatment .They regarded correcting all aspects of the hyperaction or deficiency in human body as the starting point of treatment ,which forms the treatment concept and enriches the theory of TCM .It also has a great sig-nificance to modern TCM’s clinical research ,diagnosis and treatment .
