The several factors that influence the usability quality of E312-XX-type stainless steel electrode were discussed.The research shows that the electrodes with 15 and 25 coating type show short circuiting transfer mode,the electrode with 16 coating type shows the mixed transfer mode of short circuiting transfer and flux-wall guided transfer, the electrodes with 17 and 26 coating type show flux-wall guided transfer mode.The δ-phase contents are up to 40%in electrode deposited metal , whenσ-phase is long-term heated in sensitive temperature area, the tendency for sigma phase transformation is serious.The embrittlement tendency in dissimilar steel weld metal is relatively little because higher carbon content in weld metal can play a certain part to restrain the σphase.The usability quality problems of electrodes with 15 and 16 coating type are overcome respectively by the electrodes with 25 and 26 coating type, but the former can not completely replace the latter.The usability of e-lectrodes with 17 coating type is the best, but the sensitivity of the electrode porosity is existential.The compre-hensive properties of electrodes with 15 and 25 coating type are better than those of electrodes with 16,17 and 26 coating type.
