黑棉土作为一种特殊岩土有着其自身固有的工程特性，由于国内外勘察方法、技术标准的不同，要求对其重新进行认识、分析。针对非洲特殊的气候特征，分析了该黑棉土的工程特性，并根据国外膨胀土的判定标准对非洲黑棉土的膨胀性进行了判定，得出该黑棉土为膨胀土，具有高膨胀性，低CBR值等特征。为消除黑棉土的膨胀性对公路路基的影响，研究了该区域黑棉土路基处理技术，并根据膨胀土不同的膨胀潜势对路基基底提出了不同的处理措施。

as a kind of special soil, black cotton soil had its own engineering characteristic. Due to different exploration, technical standard between China and overseas, it was necessary to re-recognized and analyze. Aim at the special climate in Africa, this paper introduced the black cotton soil's engineering characteristics, and also according to the overseas' judging standard, the expansibility of African black cotton soil was judged. The conclusion showed the black cotton soil was expansive soil, with high expansibility and lower CBR value. In order to decrease the influence to the road subgrade, the treatment process of black cotton soil was studied, and different treatment methods were settled due to different expansive situation.
