Active distribution network will be used to handle numerous grid-connected distributed energy resources as an important approach in near future,which can also be considered as the significant stage of smart distribution network.This paper emphasizes on thefirst demonstration project of active distribution network technology in China, illustrating the general situation,implement scheme,key technology and social and economic benefits respectively.The construction and application of demonstration project can verify the effectiveness and feasibility of active distribution network technology for distributed energy absorption and optimization operation of distribution network.The demonstration project could guide the research and implement of active distribution network in China.
