越窑考古研究涉及调查及发掘、"越窑"涵义、窑业衰落、交流与传播、科技分析、造型纹饰和装烧工艺及秘色瓷定义等七个方面,80年来越窑研究的成果卓著,尤其是近几年来对窑址考古日渐关注,其生产背景日益明晰.但是,目前的研究中对丰富的原始材料的解读和信息提炼却显得相对薄弱.呼吁未来的研究方向应采取自下而上和文化生态学的视角,引入实验考古学方法和器物操作链分析,努力做到透物见人,拓展和深化问题导向的科技手段应用,并注意窑址和出土遗存横向和纵向的整合研究.

Archaeological research on Yue kilns focuses mainly on seven sub-themes: investigation and excavation, definition of"Yue kilns", decline of Yue kilns, communication and exchanges, science and techniques, shapes and patterns, firing craftsmanship, and definition of"mise ci"(secret color ware). Fruit-ful results have been gained in the research of Yue kilns since the 1980s. In the recent years, particular at-tention has been put on the archaeology of Yue kiln sites resulting in a clearer picture on the production background of the Yue ware. More efforts, however, are expected in interpreting raw data and processing in-formation. A bottom-up perspective and cultural ecology concepts are suggested to be adopted in future stud-ies. As for methodology, it is recommended to introduce experimental archaeology and concept of operational sequence. New technologies are encouraged in analyzing and solution finding. A comparative perspective on the kiln sites and the remains is highly advised.
