p53作为比较经典的抑癌基因，对诱导细胞死亡、上皮组织发育以及肿瘤发展的过程中起到重要的作用。p53能结合并激活细胞分裂制动基因从而控制细胞的分化与增殖，对细胞增殖分化起负调控作用。但是，突变型 p53基因不但丧失抑癌功能且具有恶性转化功能。本文从该基因的来源、结构、作用、以及其在口腔白斑中的相关研究予以综述。

As an tumor suppressor, p53 plays an important role in reducing cell death, epithelial tissue development and the tumor development.p53 works as an negative feedback inhibitor of proliferation, it could combine and stimulate cell fission gene and control the cell differentiation and proliferation. However, mutant type of p53 not only lose the function of suppressing the tumor growth, but also can change into malignant. From the sources, the gene structure and function, as well as its in oral leukoplakia in related research were reviewed.
