Four heavy jib tower cranes hung on the outside of core wall, which can climb on the support frame set on the outside of core wall, are used in Ping’ an IFC project. This paper mainly focuses on the design idea of the support system of externally hung tower crane and assesses the optimal layout between the support system and the core barrel. The interaction between the crane and the supporting systems were analyzed, three main factors which may affect the load case of support system are concluded, including the climbing height of tower cranes, work situation and tower arm position.
