To clarify the research on the organic Shale geochemical characteristics and its containing gas andhy-drocarbon potential in Shanmian coalfield of Henan Province. Through the analysis of the drilling sampling, dataof the mechanism of degrees and types of vitrinite reflectance were analyzed, the organic geochemical charac-teristics of Carboniferous Permian Shanxi Formation andTaiyuan Group hydrocarbon source rockin the area were summarized.
