Toni Morrison, the first Afro-American female writer awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature , who was born and brought up in the white society, has had unique feelings and deep love for black culture .As a member of Afro-Americans, she has taken every ef-fort to call for national integration to promote traditional black culture in the mainstream white culture and analyze black culture and spir -itual trend in a special perspective .The paper will search the cultural roots in Song of Solomon in terms of self-identity and cultural change.
