充分发挥工会的职能，做好职工的思想工作，维护职工合法权益是基层工会面临的一项重要任务，也是广大煤矿工人对工会组织的最大期望和要求。怎样当好基层工会主席，应该是每一位基层工会主席需要认真探索的问题。作为煤炭企业，工会工作与安全生产、经营管理紧密相连。工会工作要围绕企业中心工作和任务，创造性地开展针对性活动，把职工的积极性、智慧和创造力引导到企业改革发展上来，要积极组织员工大力开展“提合理化建议，为企业出谋划策”、“增效益、保安全、促发展”等与生产紧密相关的活动，虽然做这些工作很费心，但效果很好，既能调动职工的工作积极性，也可为企业节约生产成本，促进企业的改革与发展。
