具身认知作为第二代认知科学的重要特征，强调以身体为解释核心，目前已成为继客观主义和建构主义之后，认知科学和心理学研究的前沿研究。来自具身认知实证研究的证据表明，身体的运动态度与经验、现实环境等在一定程度上影响运动技能认知的形成与发展。研究指出：在具身认知理论指导下，高校体育教学应在优化高校体育教学内容，创造宽松、和谐的教学环境，培养学生对运动的积极情感等方面，进行相关教学实践改革。
