Tang Junyi ,one of the representatives of modern new Confucianism ,is a giant of the cultural consciousness .He takes Confucianism as his study and life purport ,and developed an inherent and tran‐scendent new religious spirit through his redefinition of the religious consciousness .He takes Confucianism as the standard in order to establish the new world religion ,and find a way of settling down the life of peo‐ple .T his reflects his concern for the ultimate humanistic appeal of life .
