农民的走向问题是社会转型期我国社会必须回答的核心问题，农民在城市化过程中经历着挣扎与嬗变，最终是走向终结还是新生？受20世纪法国农村社会变迁的启发，事实上，农民的终结并不是指乡村生活的终结或者农业的终结，而是传统小农的终结。城市化不是要消灭农民，而是要在终结传统小农的基础上走向新生，通过重点培育职业化农民，让农民融入到现代化职业体系中，过上与城市市民等值的生活，实现乡村生活城市化，真正实现农民的蜕变。

The trend of the farmers is the core issue which must be addressed in the period of social transition. Since in the process of urbanization,farmers are experiencing struggle and evolution,will they come to an end or a new life?With the enlightenment of rural social change in the 20th century in France,we suggest that the end of farmers doesn't actually indicate the end of countryside life or agriculture,but the end of traditional mini agricul-ture. Urbanization is not to eliminate farmers,but to enable farmers to come into a new life on the basis of ending traditional mini agriculture,and by training professional farmers to make farmers to be integrated into modern voca-tional system and lead an equal life with citizens so as to realize the urbanization of the life in the countryside and achieve the transformation of farmers.
