情态动词"可能"和情态副词"也许"在语义、句法和语用三个方面均有或大或小的差异: 语义上,"可能"的语义确信度较"也许"高;句法上,位于句首的"也许"有强调、提顿、解说作用,而"可能"没有这种作用,二者固定格式的用法也不同;此外,在语用选择和句类选择上,"可能""也许"也有差异, 如"可能"在某些情况下能用于特指问句中,而"也许"不能.
