目前高校国际化为世界各国大学的普遍趋势，从学生、师资、教材，一直到课程设置、教育方式、实习环节，乃至教育思想和教育制度的国际化已经成为一种国际教育的重要趋势。高等教学国际化既给民办高校带来越来越大的挑战，同时也带来可以通过国际化急起直追的机会。民办高等教育国际化的核心应该是中国民办高校的学术、知识水平与国际一流水平入流，而设计手段和途径的最高原则是如何利于吸纳国际一流知识和学术水平，并在此基础上树立中国自己的学术高峰。
