随着对外开放政策的实施和经济全球化的深入，中国已吸引着越来越多的游客前来观光旅游，欣赏博大精深的文化和历史。作为中国古代文明发祥地之一，河北省是传统旅游大省，文化旅游产业具有巨大发展前景。作为推动这一特色旅游的权威平台和窗口单位，博物馆的作用至关重要。解说词质量与英译好坏决定着文化旅游产业的兴衰。当前，河北省博物馆解说词英译存在颇多谬误，无法有效促进文化旅游。为了解决这些问题，首先应针对专业术语繁多、文言文体复杂难懂、翻译文本众多，以及辞藻华丽等解说词的特点制定相关英译策略。而后，再通过博物馆解说词英译大力促进对文化外宣、学术研究、多形式传播和跨行业合作等领域的发展。

With the implementation of the Reform and Opening-up policy and the deepening of eco-nomic globalization,China is attracting more and more tourists for sightseeing and for appreciating its profound history and extensive culture.As one of the birthplaces of China’s ancient civilization,He-bei province is a traditional tourist destination and its cultural tourism industry is developing with huge potential.As an authoritative platform and window to promote this tourism special,museums play a vitally important role.The quality of commentaries and the authenticity of their translations underlie the future prosperity of the cultural tourism industry.However presently,there are many fallacies and errors in the English translations of museum commentaries in Hebei Provincial Museum which are far from enough to promote the development of cultural tourism.To solve these problems, relevant translation strategies should first be applied to tackle some difficulties in commentaries trans-lation such as the large amount terms,the complicated and intricate classical style of writing of tradi-tional Chinese,the redundant materials to be translated,and the polished and grandiose rhetoric.Fur-thermore,the influence of the English translations of museum commentaries on cultural communica-tion,academic research,diversified dissemination,and cross-industrial cooperation should be greatly enhanced.
