The author expounds the current situation of the construction and promotion of energy-saving residence. On the basis of the life cycle cost the-ory, the author develops the life cycle cost model of the energy-saving residence and does cost estimation. Through the analysis of practical cases, the re-sults show that energy-saving residence can not only reduce energy consumption, protects environment and improves the living comfort, but saves opera-tion and maintenance cost and lowers life-cycle cost when compared with non-energy-saving residence. It comes to the conclusion that the cost of ener-gy-saving house is 6. 75% more than non-energy-saving residence, but the cost can be covered within 13 years.
