20世纪90年代，随着中国啤酒工业的迅速崛起和畜牧业的快速发展，对啤酒大麦和饲用大麦的需求随之增加。通过对世界大麦贸易、中国大麦贸易和供需情况的分析，认为国内大麦生产无论是数量还是质量都难以满足中国不断增长的啤酒酿造和饲料加工的需求，大量的供需缺口将继续依靠进口弥补。

In the 1990s, with the rapid development of China's beer industry and animal husbandry, the demand for beer barley and feed barley increased. This paper analyzed world's barley trade, China's barley trade and supply and demand situation, then got the conclusion:it was difficult for domestic barley production in both quantity and quality to meet the demands of growing beer brewing and feed processing, so large gap between supply and demand would continue relying on imports.
