德、日两国财阀在德、日法西斯发动的侵略战争中扮演着重要的角色。战后，德国财阀和军工企业主的战争责任得到了比较彻底的清算，而日本财阀战犯却逃脱了法律的制裁，日本财阀也在被“解散”后不久便得以“复活”，再次充当了日本保守势力的经济后盾。正由于二战中的日本军工企业，在战后逃避了为其战争中罪行付出应有代价的惩处，成为导致日本右翼势力拒绝认罪态度的根源。
