肝源性因子betatrophin可特异性的引起胰岛β细胞增殖.动物研究已证实betatrophin诱导增殖的β细胞具有正常功能.人体研究也发现糖尿病患者体内betatrophin水平升高,并且与胰岛素抵抗相关,这可能是一种代偿性反应,但其具体机制并不清楚.因此进一步研究betatrophin与糖尿病的关系可为糖尿病的再生治疗带来希望.
