自噬是一个自我消化的过程，通过吞噬自身细胞质或细胞器以维持自身代谢所需和细胞稳态。虽然自噬失调会引起非凋亡性细胞死亡，但人们还是普遍认为自噬是一个保护性机制。自1962年自噬被发现以来，近年对其研究愈来愈热。就目前研究来看，自噬对多种疾病的发生有保护作用，如：癌症、心血管疾病、神经退行性疾病、肝病、糖尿病、自身免疫病及感染等。近来，自噬在肾脏疾病中的作用也得到深入调查，本文就自噬的发生及调控机制和其在肾脏疾病中的作用作一综述，以期对该领域今后的研究有所帮助。

Autophagy is a self-digestion process, through engulfing their cytoplasm and organelles to maintain its own metabolism and cellular homeostasis. Although autophagy disorder can cause non-apoptotic cell death, there is a general agreement that autophagy is a protective mechanism. Since autophagy was found in 1962, more and more attentions are being paid to the studies about autophagy in recent years. Autophagy has protective roles in many different diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative diseases, liver disease, diabetes, autoimmune diseases and infection, etc. The function and role of autophagy are also investigated in kidney disease. This review summarized the occurrence and regulatory mechanism of autophagy and its possible role in kindey diseases.
