《吕芳诗小姐》在叙事方法上别具匠心，注重叙事空间的营造。小说中作为空间意象的“红楼”“贫民楼”和“钻石城”不但对文本具有结构意义和审美功能，而且作为潜在的叙事力量在开拓人物的心灵空间方面发挥着重要作用，展现了主体突破重围向本质自我挺进的艰难曲折的历程。这三个空间意象形成了既有区别又有联系的审美场域，深受中西文化影响，从而使小说因继承而根深叶茂，因创新而独树一帜。

Miss Lv Fangshi shows ingenuity in narrative methods and focuses on the construction of narrative space .The three space images“Red Chamber”“the Poor Building” and“the Diamond City”, not only have the structural and aesthetic function of the text , but also have potential narrative force in the development of the character ’ s mind space , which shows the subject ’ s self-advancing arduous journey .Deeply influenced by Chinese and Western culture , the three space images form different but related esthetic field , which make this novel unique because of its innovation .
