明人对词的体性的认识并非是一成不变的，而是在社会文化思潮与词学观念的双重作用下不断推移衍变。嘉靖中期以前的词论仍然延续着宋元词论的余绪，在对词的体性的认识上往往以诗教传统比附词学；嘉靖中至万历中的词学理论既可见传统诗教理论根深蒂固的影响，又能体现“主情”的时代思潮对词学领域的渗透；万历中期以后，词学领域将“主情”的词学观引入对词体本质与功能的探讨，构建起具有晚明卓荦时代特征的词学体性观，并由此体现出对前代词学成果接受上极大的包容性。明代词论一方面支配着明词的创作以及具有明词特色的时代风貌的呈现，另一方面也规定了以唐宋词为主体的前代词学成果在明代传播与接受的具体情形。

People's opinion about the style of Ci in the Ming Dynasty was constantly changing with the dual actions of thought in society and conception of Ci.The Ci theories before the mid-Jiajing period were still the continuation of Song-Yuan Ci theories.The recognition of the style of Ci often followed the poetry tradition of moralization.The Ci theory from mid-Jiajing and mid Wanli period was strongly affected by the traditional poetry moralization,and at the same time the emotionalism current thought had infiltrated into Ci study field.After mid-Wanli period,the discussions about essence and function of Ci hd introduced into the emotionalism of Ci theory,and the style of Ci reflected the characteristics of Ci in the late Ming Dynasty.The Ci theory in the Ming Dynasty dominated Ci creation and expressed the spirit of Ming Ci.On the hand,the Ci theory also dictated the status of the dissemination and reception of previous results of Ci,especially the Tang-Song Ci.
