糖尿病属中医学“消渴”范畴，普遍认为阴虚有热，过食肥甘是糖尿病2型的病因病机，但与实际临床观察不尽相符。随着时代进步，应用现代医疗仪器及科学分析方法可以补充古时难以测量的相关信息，如血糖、糖化血红蛋白、血压等，通过量化手段得以数据化，大大提高诊断的理论依据及准确性。该文以一成功案例分析论述中西医配合以补虚、温经去寒、活血化瘀中药，加上糖尿病饮食控制，体重管理及适当运动治疗虚寒夹瘀型2型糖尿病的效益。

According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM),diabetes is classified under the disease of xiao ke (消渴).Generally, the pathogenesis of xiao ke includes insufficiency of yin,excess of hot and excessive intake of food. How-ever,the clinical manifestations do not always meet the said pathogenesis. Benefitting from the development of science and technology,medicinal equipment and analytical technology are available nowadays for use in diagnosis.Therefore,the four di-agnostic methods of TCM are supplemented with precise analytical data.A case of type II diabetes marked predominantly the decline of qi and yang along with the manifestation of blood stagnation is to be studied.The effectiveness of the treatment plan including the use of traditional Chinese medicines,diabetic diet management,weight management and daily exercise is to be documented and discussed.
