邓小平实事求是思想是当代中国最重大的一个理论成果。他在恢复实事求是的思想路线时，确立了“拿事实来说话”的实践检验标准。他通过论证“贫穷不是社会主义”，从而发展了实事求是思想路线。通过尊重事实，提出初级阶段理论；在事实中求是，探索现代化建设。可见，实事求是是中国特色社会主义理论的精髓。其当代意义就在于“一切从实际出发”，在实事求是中进行社会自我批判和“官员”的自我批判。

Deng Xiaoping’s seeking truth from facts thoughts is the most significant achievements in China.When he recovered the ideological line of seeking truth from facts,he established the practice testing criterion:“Let the facts speak for themselves”.Finally,he established emancipating the mind and ideological line through the proof of “Poverty is not socialism”.By respecting for facts,he pro-posed primary stage theory,and in “to seek truth from facts”,he explored modernization,so seeking truth from facts is the core of the theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics.Its contemporary significance lies in “starting from facts”,and starts social self-criticism in a realistic and “official”self-criticism in seeking truth from facts.
