硒蛋白是人和动物必需微量元素硒的主要功能表现形式，硒蛋白W（selenoprotein W ，Sel W）是其中比较特殊的一种，近年来对硒蛋白W的研究越来越多，尤其是硒蛋白W的生物学功能与疾病的关系日益受到关注。本文从硒蛋白W的结构特点、生物学功能及其与疾病关系的研究进展进行综述，以期为缺硒性地方病的研究提供新的思路。

Selenoprotein is the main functional form of selenium ,an essential trace element ,among humans and animals .Selenoprotein W (Sel W ) is a relatively special kind of selenoproteins . In recent years , the number of studies about selenoprotein W is constantly increasing ,and its biological functions and relationships with diseases have received wide attention .This article reviews the latest research progresses in the structural features ,biological functions and relationship with diseases of Sel W , hoping to find new ideas to study the endemic diseases with selenium deficiency .
