If the flow characteristic of valve is not corresponding to the practical situation, it will influence The ability of response of the Automatic Generation Control (AGC) and the primary frequency, then seriously affect the safety and economy in power plant. This paper is based on valve characteristic experiments of one thermal power unit in Ningxia province, mainly introduces the experiment process, valve characteristic curve adjustment and the result comparison after the scheme carried out. As result of this optimization, unit has been greatly improved on load control, AGC response and throttling.
