Basic principle and structure of DF - 5753 ash online instrument were introduced in this paper.According to the difficulty of using instrument in the field, the corresponding solutions were put forward.The solutions pointed out that actuation of relay could be used to determine loading start time and end time of different coal, using multiple sets of calibration parameters could increase the correction factor of thickness and modifications parameters and using dust-cleaning apparatus could remove the dust on the key components.Based upon the analysis of the ash indicator application in the Lao Hu Tai coal preparation plant, it could be concluded that ash indicator had good effect and could solve the problems of fast ash content analysis of coal transported outside the plant.
