在全面收集黄石市基础资料的基础上，采用综合指数评价模型，建立相应的评价指标体系，利用ArcGIS软件进行计算分析，将黄石市地质环境适宜性分为适宜生态用地、适宜农业用地、适宜建设用地三种类型。根据适宜性评价结果，结合黄石市经济社会发展和土地利用现状提出建议：(1)在黄石市区进一步优化城市空间布局，积极实施沿江开发和旧城改造工程；(2)大冶市应以地质环境恢复和生态环境保护为主导，积极发展生态农业和生态旅游业，严格控制新增建设用地规模；(3)阳新县以发展沿江特色经济、特色观光农业、新兴建材、物流仓储为主，积极承接黄石市和武汉市的带动与辐射。

Based on collecting information aboutHuangshi City comprehensively, the paper uses ArcGIS software to analyze the suitability of geological environment of thecity by building an integrated index evaluation model, and divides the city into three types of suitable ecological land, suitable agricultural land, and suitableconstruction land. According to the suitability evaluation results, the paper put forward some recommendations after we consider the economic and social development and land usesituation in Huangshi:Firstly, further optimize the layout of urban space in Huangshi city, and implement actively the riverside development and urban renewal projects. Secondly, Daye city should put more attention to geological environmental restoration and ecological environmental protection, develop ecological agriculture and eco-tourism actively, and control new construction land strictly. Thirdly,Yangxincountyshould develop riverside characteristiceconomy, special sightseeing agriculture, new building materials, logistics and warehousing, to undertake the drive and radiation from Huangshi and Wuhan actively.
